This includes conducting international market assessments, establishing institutional partnerships abroad, and developing cross-border program pathways aligned with Canadian labour market needs.

 

SELC College is currently seeking an International Market Research Specialist to join our team. Position: International Market Research Specialist

The position reports to senior management and provides professional expertise in international expansion planning and execution within a regulated education environment.

 Duties and responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive international market research to assess opportunities for student recruitment and program expansion, including analysis of trends in education, regulatory environments, and labour market demand.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based international market-entry strategies, prioritizing regions such as Africa, to support sustainable growth in the Canadian international education sector.
  • Establish, negotiate, and maintain institutional partnerships with foreign educational institutions, regulatory bodies, and trade organizations to support cross-border program pathways aligned with Canadian labour market needs.
  • Analyze economic, demographic, and sector-specific data to identify market opportunities and recommend strategies to senior management for expanding international student enrolment.
  • Lead feasibility studies and risk assessments for potential international partnerships, ensuring compliance with provincial regulatory frameworks and minimizing operational and reputational risks.
  • Advise college leadership on strategic planning, program development, and international growth initiatives based on research findings and market analysis.
  • Design and implement structured international market research methodologies and reporting systems to track trends, measure outcomes, and inform ongoing institutional planning.
  • Mentor and provide professional development to Canadian staff on cross-border partnership processes and market development strategies.
  • Support governance oversight and ensure that international expansion initiatives comply with regulatory, operational, and ethical standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and analyses to guide decision-making and facilitate evidence-based strategies for international student recruitment and institutional growth.

 Employment requirements

·         Bachelor degree in business administration, economics, international development, public policy, education management, or related discipline is required.

·         At least 3 years of experience in international market research, strategy and partnership development.

  • Experience conducting market assessments and feasibility studies to support strategic decisions.
  • Experience working with institutions, government, or trade organizations in an international context.
  • Familiarity with aligning international programs with labour market needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • ·         Language: English
